Free Job Portals

Job portals that are free and easily accessible to any individual wishing to start out as a young Human Resource Professional.

Any job portal present on the internet would require you to first set up a company profile, for this you'll need all the basic details of the organization which would be relevant for that particular job portal. Always advisable to have your company logo added the first thing followed by the rest of the details.

The list of job portals present here are mainly focused on attracting talents for your firm, these differ from sourcing, they're mainly focused on receiving applications once you have your job posted.

1. Updazz

Updazz is a blessing in disguise, it works like any other job portal, its absolutely free and easily accessible. You can post as many Job Openings as possible, so far I've uploaded an approximate 10 Job Openings and they haven't forced me to promote the job to sustain.

A few key points to remember: they do give you an option to promote your job but you can always opt out of it, no compulsion there. also Updazz does a great job at linking the post to LinkedIn, this is something which I haven't personally opted for, but having it set it to that works for me. I've gotten a maximum of 50 profiles per post. Updaaz has it's own sister portals, iim jobs, hirist - which mainly focuses on technical hiring.

2. LinkedIn

Easy. Efficient. Effective. LinkedIn has become my personal go-to for 'sourcing' and 'receiving applications' from candidates. The seamless UI and easily available opportunity for you to source talents for your firm at your finger tips.

My basic strategy begins with setting up a Job Post and posting about the same on my profile, which also includes searching for relevant profiles and connecting with those individuals.

This is one of the few platforms that allows you to source profiles freely which makes it effective enough for every individual to easily hire their next talent. LinkedIn is the next big thing in Recruitment. One job post can lead to an average of 20 applicants depending on your organization.

An important point to remember: LinkedIn allows one free job post per profile, it gives you an opportunity to promote it. However, this can lead to multiple job posts per profile you'd need a recruiters access for the same, LinkedIn premium perhaps. LinkedIn is the future of recruitement.

3. Internshala

Want to hire interns? here's your one stop solution, sounds like an advertisement at this point. Everything aside, Internshala is absolutely free, expect for if you want to hire freshers for a job. It's free as long as your hiring Interns for your organisation.

It's easy and very simple to set up your company or recruiters profile, once your done, receiving applications can be in a slow burn fashion but results would be assured.

4. Apna

This is the job portal best to reach the masses. If you're into bulk hiring this app would help you tremendously. I was, roughly in Dec' 21- Jan '22,  hiring for cities like Rajkot, Surat it only gets difficult to reach the right amount of individuals in these cities. I tried reaching out to folks within the industry to understand how do I hire in cities like these no one had the answer to it, around the same time I was hiring Sales Recruiter, tried and experimented to find out Apna is actually a blessing in disguise.

You'll reach out to just the actual job seekers here on this portal and in a solid amount. If you're hiring sales folks, sales recruiters from Bangalore, Pune, Gujarat this is just about the right platform.

Disclaimer: Do not use your personal number for Apna, major con according to me, the portal would share your contact details with the job seeker and they have the complete freedom to call and text you at any hour, you might want to take care of this. I spoke about this issue with the customer care folks at Apna, they mentioned they're looking into it, to no resolution yet.

5. Indeed

Will help you just about the right amount. I tried Indeed in early 2021 and helped me with applications but once I reached 5 job posts they pushed me to make the job posts premium. For the remaining five job posts, I received round about a handful amount of application worth interviewing, not hiring.
